Ah! So that’s happened to me before but just on one lone fig! Perhaps the fig slices were too thick, so maybe experiment with thinner slices? Alternatively you could get creative and place the figs on the bottom of the cake pan and pour batter on top (like an upside down cake)?! I’m not sure if either of these suggestions are helpful, but best of luck 🤍

I made the torte for a party and it was a huge hit! Do you have any advice on how to stop the batter rising over the figs when it cooks?
